We're Hiring: Slicer Machinist– Day & Night Shifts Available

If you’ve got the right attitude and enjoy working in a supportive, team-focused environment, our client in Milton Keynes are looking for reliable workers to mind the machinery on a 4 on 4 off basis.


Shifts: 6am – 6pm (days) OR 6pm – 6am (nights)
Pay Rate:

  • £13.50 per hour (days)

  • £15.00 per hour (nights)


Increasing after training (max 12 weeks):

  • £15.65 per hour (days)

  • £16.80 per hour (nights)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Load/unload the slicer and impinger with meat logs

  • Assemble line guides, grippers, shear bars, downholders during line setup/changeover

  • Operate the film lifter, changing base film

  • Ensure the correct program is present on the slicer for the current job, and complete the machine start-up sheet

  • Replenish supplies of knife pots, spray bottles, PPE, etc., as required

  • Monitor condition of blades, grippers, belts, blue rollers (escalate any concerns)

  • Monitor temperature, quality and ensure the product leaving slicer meets QAS standards

  • Take empty dolavs/racks to the washroom and ensure rework bag labeling is completed

  • Ensure lightweights/overweights do not exceed 5% from slicer

  • Ensure food safety policies are adhered to at all times

What We're Looking For:

  • Comfortable working alone and in a team

  • Attention to detail and good communication skills

  • Ability to manage paperwork (e.g., checking yields, wastage)

  • Comfortable working in a chilled environment and handling raw meats (chicken, pork, lamb, beef)

  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn – beginners or experienced candidates welcome!

  • Ability to lift up to 15kg
